History
The Company was established in 2002, by Brett Robinson providing research, consultancy services and advanced modelling for the property fund management industry; in 2007 Seven Dials expanded to develop and manage its own indirect property funds.
Seven Dials produced proprietary research on private commercial property investment vehicles (e.g. LPs) for IFAs and other professional intermediaries. It wrote a number of important industry reports including “Fees and Costs in commercial property: Making an informed choice” and it was the original author of “Understanding Commercial Property –A Guide for Intermediaries”, sponsored by the RICS, BPF andthe IPF, which has become the leading entry level guide to understanding the property investment market.
In 2007 Seven Dials became a commercial property fund manager, launching its first fund, the Seven Dials European Property Fund, in March 2007.
In January 2008 Brett was joined by Mickola Wilson former CEO of Teesland plc, a Pan European Fund and Asset Manager and Darren Fennell MD of Orange Properties, a private investment company and a consultant toTeesland plc.
Brett, Mickola and Darren had previously been at Guardian Royal Exchange,where Brett managed the £7bn Life Fund, Mickola was MD of Guardian Properties and Darren was a Property Fund Manager for the unit trust funds. At Teesland the team worked together on a number of key projects including the launch of Teesland Advantage Property Income Trust, a UK quoted Investment Company.
In November 2008, Seven Dials took over the management of Lightstone Properties plc, a private property company whose shareholders comprise circa 60 private individuals. Lightstone has a diversified portfolio investing in all sectors, with an asset value of circa £35 million. Astrid Cruickshank has joined Seven Dials to continue in her role as fund and asset manager.
